Jack Cook Age 17: Learner & Work Placement

“I was very quiet and lacked confidence when I first came to LearnPlay. During my time here, my confidence has grown a lot and I have successfully completed 3 ASDAN Awards that helped me with my skills, confidence and communication, I also completed an Expressive Arts ASDAN which taught me a lot of specific technical skills related to games creation and development. I did a placement at LearnPlay, it was so much fun and very interesting, it showed me how I can build a career in games as well as good office and business skills.

LearnPlay is an amazing place and I would come in every day if I could!”

Tom Chance Age 17 : Learner & Work Placement

“Before I came to LearnPlay, I was very quiet and in a bit of a rut. I didn’t socialise and I was pretty much stayed in my room 24/7. My time at LearnPlay has greatly helped my confidence and communication and helped me become more sociable. The 3 ASDAN awards that I have completed here have given me a real sense of achievement and the Expressive Arts Awards has taught me so many technical skills. I went on to do a placement with LearnPlay that has been so interesting and enjoyable. I have been out on deliveries with LearnPlay facilitators and helped other young people with their skills. The placement has provided me with so much and such good experience for my future. I’m really looking forward to progressing and becoming a LearnPlay facilitator in time.

I would recommend LearnPlay to everyone!”

Nathan Roberts: Year 4 Head Graiseley Primary School

“Working with LearnPlay Foundation has greatly helped me to identify a range of games and multimedia that compliments certain parts of the curriculum. The use of development games (games which allow my students to build and re-create environments) have proved highly successful in terms of engaging my students and allowing their imaginations to roam free within the confines of the subject areas.

It has helped bring some of our subjects to life and one of the greatest impacts has been the learning reinforcement as the students have had the opportunity to get hands on”

Wendy Briscoe: Head Teacher Graiseley Primary School

“We have worked with LearnPlay Foundation for two academic years and have found them to be passionate about their delivery, easy to work with and very committed to ensuring that our young people are engaged and switched on to learning.

They have delivered 2 Family Learning programmes for our children and their parents/guardians. These programmes have been immensely successful in regards to connecting parents and children, helping create a shared interest and strengthening the family dynamic through positive communication and active listening.

LearnPlay Foundation has also delivered a Teach the Teacher programme which had helped our teachers bring their lessons and parts of the curriculum to ‘life’ through the identification of relevant learning games and development tools which compliment areas within the curriculum, This has assisted engagement and learning reinforcement in some of the more dry areas of the curriculum”
